About Us
The Davis Magnet School Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization directed by parent volunteers and dedicated to fundraising to supplement the school’s mission of providing an exemplary public school education.
The Foundation provides financial resources to enhance our children’s academic and teaching environment through the generous support of our Davis Magnet families and community partners.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide support and resources to enhance the educational experience of the students, teachers, and staff at Davis Magnet School. Through fundraising efforts, we aim to foster a nurturing and inspiring learning environment and to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.
What We Do
Fundraising Initiatives: Through key fundraising events and campaigns, primarily Big Bucks for Ducks and the Davis Gala, we raise funds to support educational programs, resources, and initiatives at our elementary school.
Program Support: We provide financial support for innovative educational programs and initiatives that enrich the curriculum and offer unique learning opportunities for students. Each year, the Foundation provides the school with around $85,000 in financial support to fund such items as the salary of a supplemental teacher, Beyond Athletics coaches to lead organized activities at recess, and educational software applications that are only partially funded by the school district.
Resource Allocation: The Foundation also allocates funds towards essential resources such as books, technology, and classroom materials, ensuring that students have access to the tools they need to succeed and an environment that fosters learning. For example, the Foundation funds fresh drinking water in all classrooms and provides each teacher with discretionary funds for additional classroom supplies and programming.
Community Engagement: We foster partnerships with businesses, organizations, and individuals in the community to further support our mission and goals. We also encourage volunteerism and involvement from parents and community members to create a strong support network for our school.
